Expect the worst, hope for the best !
May is upon us , and we all will soon see what impact the boycott of Blackpool will have.
I expect the World's great will participate, the weaker Professionals ( possible finalists) may come and observe, avoiding a chance of receiving a deserved and expected whipping, and since only one can be the first, it comes down to what is the most important, sportsmanship, or politics. This will give a unique opportunity to the semifinalists to enter the finals. Good for them.
IF Italians and Russians are reacting to a suggested unfairness in judging observed by some in prior years , suggesting it stems from the English judges providing lessons to "Blackpool" participants just weeks prior to the Festival...why then would even Italian and Russian premier ( top ) dancers take part ? Why some, and not the others ? Is it that not even Italy wishes to miss out on Blackpool trophies ?
Lets hope the movement shall not affect the festivities, even though there are many active dancers who have apparently decided not to dance, but are curious enough to come and watch as spectators.
Long live tradition, long live Blackpool !

A couple of weeks, a few more days, and it all will come together. No need to guess, speculate. We shall soon see. I am very curious what the Italian Professionals will do, especially those who have just recently graduated from the IDSF Amateur circles. Will their loyalty be with IDSF, or will they embrace and try discover what WDC offers ? Should they miss out on Blackpool in 2010, they may miss out on a life time opportunity. Would the sacrifice and playing the politics be worth it ?
