Members of the World Dance Council (WDC) - Open Letter from New Zealand
Open Letter From New Zealand !!
To: Members of the World Dance Council (WDC) and all dancers in the world that love the freedom of dance
Dear Members
This letter comes to you from 2 of 4 Member Associations of the New Zealand Dance & Dancesport Council.
We applaud the resolute emails sent recently from BDC, DPV and Asian AL in their stance against the despicable IDSF attempts to take over the world in the name of Dancesport.
We too, in one of the Southern most countries in the World are facing aggressive and outlandish behaviour by our ‘supposed’ partners on the New Zealand Council in their bid to infiltrate New Zealand with their IDSF doctrine at the expense of WDC.
Indeed, our aggressors have actively sought support and resources from 2 individuals, from our nearest neighbours, Australia, in the belief that if Australasia becomes totally IDSF driven, Asia will follow.
It appears the action of IDSF relies heavily on a minority of ‘believers’ who are encouraged to use what ever means possible to gain advantage and dominance. In so doing, intimidating and bullying Professionals and Amateurs along the way.
Surely the IOC can not condone these acts as in the spirit of sport? We encourage the WDC to inform the IOC of these issues in fairness to all competitors, coaches and dancers around the World.
The majority here in New Zealand continue to fight the good fight and honour the value of Dance history, expertise and the right to
freedom of choice.
Our full support goes to all that support those freedoms and rights.
Kind regards
Kingsley Gainsford
On behalf of:
Society Australasian Teachers of Dancing Incorporated (SATD (NZ) Inc)
The New Zealand Federation of Dance Teachers Incorporated (NZFDT Inc)
And others.
