On March 15, 2011, the World Dance Council announced that the WDC and the WDC Amateur League joined the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The rules of WADA are now constituted and incorporated in the rules of both the WDC and the WDC-AL.

Dancers, in the near future, will need to abide by these new rules and regulations according to WADA. In addition, dancers could subjectively be tested if they are suspected of taking athletic enhancing hormones, according to the by-laws and agreements of both the WDC and WADA.

The WDC stated in a note “that doping in any form is unacceptable” to both the competitions and the organization that promote Dancesport. The Anti-Doping Agency and its anti-doping rules will now be included in the WDC Amateur League and the WDC competition guidelines. read full story at WDC
