Australia More bans from IDSF WDSF David Klar and Lauren Andlovec Empty Australia More bans from IDSF WDSF David Klar and Lauren Andlovec

Hats Off for a courageous dance couple David Klar & Lauren Andlovec, Australia.

I wish to give my deepest respect and admiration to a young Australian couple David Klar and Lauren Andlovec. Tired of the WDSF banning policy (a policy operated in an arbitrary manner) they have written to WDSF as follows :

Letter to WDSF from David Klar Mitchell & Lauren Andlovec

To Whom It May Concern,

We are writing this email in response to the letter sent to us, dated November 1 2011, in regards to our "breach of the WDSF code".

We made the choice to dance at The London Ball on the 13/10/11 as it provided us the opportunity to perform in front of a knowledgeable, enthusiastic audience, in a beautiful ballroom, to inspirational live music, and to be judged by a panel consisting entirely of world champions. This competition was a wonderful experience for us and we recommend it to all your members within the WDSF organisation.

We accept the "ban" placed on us, as it reinforces our decision to walk away from the WDSF and continue to focus entirely on improving our dancing. Avoiding the constant concern about whether or not to dance at a particular "unregistered" competition. However, one does have to question the ethics behind an organisation that chooses to "ban" certain couples who compete at an "unregistered" event and do nothing about couples competing in other "unregistered" events. For your information over 20 amateur couples from Australia have danced at various "unregistered" competitions over the past 12 months, yet the WDSF chooses to ban the Australian amateurs who made the choice to dance at The London Ball. At the WDC World Cup in China, held on the 16th of July, (an event which would be seen as running in competition to the WDSF organisation) several WDSF members competed including the current WDSF Standard champions. They received no letter informing them about "breaching the code".

We no longer wish to compete in or be involved with the WDSF.
I hope this helps you to understand our decision.

Regards,
David Klar and Lauren Andlovec

Arbitrary definition:
1. Determined by chance, whim, or impulse, and not by necessity, reason, or principle
2. Based on or subject to individual judgment or preference
3. Despotic

It is hoped that many more couples will now stand to be counted and show the same high ethical standards.
